Abu Dhabi-based publishing company, has launched a weekly financial newspaper Al Mal, the United Arab Emirates’ (UAE) first Arabic language financial publication.
Al Mal will cover local and regional market movements and provide insight into major financial developments in the UAE and Gulf areas. The newspaper also will cover in-depth news and events such as business, investment and real estate.

From The Daily Yomiuri -- The Mainichi Newspapers decided to
shut down a controversial section of its Mainichi Daily News English-language Web site, in response to increasing public criticism, the newspaper announced Tuesday.
The Mainichi said that some articles carried in the section, which was titled WaiWai, were found to be "too vulgar" and carried "inappropriate content."

Police on Tuesday arrested the founder of Japanese language school Nova on embezzlement allegations, capping the fall of a businessman whose company had hundreds of thousands of students.
Police in the western city of Osaka arrested Nozomu Sahashi, the founder of what was Japan's largest chain of language schools until last year, on suspicion of embezzlement, a police spokesman said, declining further comment.

urged a German-language news website to stop infringement of its rights.
The agency recently found a website called "Xinhua China Nachrichten" (www.xinhua.de/index.php), which illegally exploited the "Xinhua" name, an official with the foreign affairs department of the news agency said.

the Spanish site compared with the primary English-language site.
"Customers are spending roughly double the amount of time on the Spanish site as English-language customers," says Ana Grace, the retailer’s Spanish site manager.

From the XPRESS -- Increasing numbers of Dubai residents are learning Mandarin or simplified Chinese.
Since
the Dubai Chinese Learning Centre (DCLC) opened its doors at the Dubai International Academy in January last year, 50 students have signed up for special after-school classes, including one for adults. The number of non-Chinese students are growing.

Founded in 2000,
Learning Education Center provides English language instruction for children aged five to 12, through 17 schools, principally in Shanghai. Children attend classes after school, at weekends and during school holidays.

its external assistance work in all 23 official EU languages constitutes maladministration. But the Commission argues that doing so would simply not be feasible.
European Ombudsman P. Nikiforos Diamandouros yesterday criticised the Commission's failure "to accept applications for an external assistance project in [all] EU languages".
