From the Belfast Telegraph -- While we've been fixated with our own problems and solutions, aspects of the wider world have gradually seeped into Northern Ireland. Occasionally this is brought home with startling clarity.
The influx of youngsters from abroad is such an example. Over the past six years the number of pupils in our schools who need help learning English has increased from 1,366 to 5,665, a rise of more than 300%.
