Alberta slammed over foreign worker language services

From the Edmonton Sun -- It's "outrageous" that the province can offer multilingual drivers tests but can't set up multilingual hotlines to protect temporary foreign workers, a city MLA said yesterday. The government announced last month it will begin offering driving tests in nine different languages, including Tagalog and Chinese. Meanwhile, the hotline set up to field complaints from foreign workers in the oilpatch remains unilingual, said Edmonton-Strathcona MLA Rachel Notley.
